So what's new? Since I will most likely talk about the kid a lot let me tell you about teething.
It sux.
Plain and simple. It all started last Monday when I just couldn't figure out why the kid was whinning so much. He was just fussy. So I went through the motions. Hungry? Nope. Wet? Nope. Tired? Nope. Are you sure you are not hungry? Nope. And then I felt in his mouth and there was the tell-tale sign a bump on the lower gum. Yep, he's getting teeth.
So it was bad for a few days. So bad my sister had to go to the store and get us everything on the medicine shelf that was labled "teething." And we started administering the drugs. No I am not big into drugs. But when the kid does nothing but scream, won't eat, can't sleep, won't smile...for hours, you gotta figure out a way to get them calmed down.
The drugs worked. And in a few days he was a little better, until yesterday. That tooth came through. Yeah! But it was way worse because that little sucker is being trailed by the tooth right next to it. This kid is miserable.
Oh I forgot to mention. Teething doesn't hurt. Well that is what the peditrician said. Yeah he said it was a myth that it hurt. Some crap about how later in life when kids can talk they don't complain about teething. So yeah, that apparently means that it doesn't hurt when sharp objects attempt to rip through your gums for the first time in your life.
It hurts, gosh darn it, my kid is living proof of the pain. And his dad and I are the living proof that he is vocal about that pain. Poor kid. I love him to death and hate to see him hurt....
And here are some lovely pictures of the wonderful one.

I can't believe it either. :)
And I know teething can be irritating... my wisdom teeth came in during college (they were removed this past fall- perfectly formed no less!) and I swear I was *this close* to actually buying a teething ring for myself because my gums were so sore back there.
Its probably what Sawyer is experiencing... soreness and he doesnt' have a clue why its happening.
Best of luck hon! :) It was so glad to see you earlier this month!
